Who are the Partners In Ministry? Part 2

Vanessa Belcher is one of the three AmeriCorps VISTAs currently serving at RDPIM. She works closely with ROAR in her position as Community Relations Coordinator. Born in New York Ms. Belcher moved as a young child to Raleigh NC where she spent the rest of her childhood. She graduated last year from UNC Pembroke with a Bachelors in Sociology and sees her work at RDPIM as a natural progression from her studies “I am learning so much here. Working with RDPIM as a VISTA is a great opportunity to learn and grow while giving back to the community.” Ms. Belcher describes her most rewarding moments helping community members: “[It is most rewarding] when someone in need comes into the Resource and Referral Center, and I am able to connect them with the community resources they need. They come in that door without a basic necessity and they leave with such joy and hope because I was able to help them– that is the best feeling.”
